Foods That Help You Grow Taller

While no one food is a miracle cure that will make you grow like bamboo, there are things you can eat to help boost your growth potential.  Most importantly, be sure to eat a healthy and well balanced diet.

Particularly, a meal plan that’s high in low-fat protein, and rich in calcium and iron has been proven very beneficial to growth.  Be sure to get your Vitamin D when taking calcium (it’s been added to many dairy products already) and Vitamin C when taking iron (some leafy green vegetables have both); these minerals have been proven to be crucial to your body being able to absorb the respective minerals.

Other minerals you want to make sure you get enough of are zinc and magnesium. If you find you aren’t getting a fair amount through your diet, there are plenty of available supplements that raise your levels of intake.

Fish and other types of seafood have also been shown to be very nutritious and beneficial to height.  The Omega-3 fatty acids found in many fish have been linked to growth stimulation.  Just watch the amount of large, sea-dwelling fish such as salmon and tuna you consume; because these fish are older, they have accumulated more mercury in their systems that could be possible passed along to you.

Eggs are an additional source of protein, and some have Omega-3 added to them these days.  Check the packaging to see if it has been added.  Of course, if you have high cholesterol you will have to watch the number of eggs that you eat.

Sometimes, it’s not the food that you consume that will make you taller, but rather the food that you avoid.  While conclusive links have yet to be found, someone who wants to be taller would be well-advised to stay away from chemicals and processed food.
